CHSF Logo website large.jpgThe Cajun Heartland State Fair, presented by Lafayette Utilities System (LUS) is an eleven day fair produced by the CAJUNDOME staff offering an exciting entertainment line-up and ride offerings that attract more than 40,000 guests.

The Cajun Heartland State Fair is managed by an innovative and insightful team of professionals priding themselves on knowing the right mix of entertainment arranged to provide maximum enjoyment for all ages. The ride specials, food, free attractions and family oriented games make an outstanding summer experience. Truly, there is something for everyone to enjoy at the Cajun Heartland State Fair fairgrounds.

We hope you'll make plans to join us this year, May 27 - June 6, 2021, as we strive to provide the best in family entertainment for children of all ages. This year, we will welcome new ride operator Gold Star Amusements that will provide numerous super rides and classic favorites for the whole family. Games and free attractions such as the World of Wonders and Texas Tommy's Wild West Revue will be on hand to entertain the crowds. Prizes and surprises await everyone at the Cajun Heartland State Fair!

Military Service Members Admission 

  • Members of the Military can receive free admission for themselves and their immediate family to the Cajun Heartland State Fair on Memorial Day, Monday, May 31st, Tuesday, June 1st, Wednesday, June 2nd, and Thursday, June 3rd, when you present your active Military ID at the admission ticket booth. 

Clear Bag Policy, Social Distancing & Face Masks

  • Clear Bag Policy: In an effort to limit cross-contamination, the CAJUNDOME will be enforcing a strict clear bag policy at the Cajun Heartland State Fair. A one quart or smaller clear plastic storage bag or clear clutch/purse sized 6.5" x 4.5" x 1" or less permitted. Non-clear diaper bags with age appropriate children or non-clear medical bags will be permitted. All bags subject to search.   • FACE COVERINGS: Face coverings are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for non-vaccinated individuals. 
  • SOCIAL DISTANCING: All participants and guests are reminded to observe social distancing guidelines of 6 feet when entering the fairgrounds, moving about the venue, or waiting to use restroom or concession facilities. 
  • LAWN CHAIRS: Will be permitted but subject to search

Cajun Market Presented by Lafayette Women's Chamber of Commerce

Save the Date (2).pngThe Cajun Heartland State Fair has partnered with the Lafayette Women’s Chamber of Commerce to host a one-day indoor vendor market event on Saturday, June 5, 2021, which will take place during this year’s state fair. The market will feature local arts, crafts and specialty vendors in the CAJUNDOME Convention Center.

 

The Cajun Market will be open from 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM. There is no additional fee to enter the Cajun Market as admission into the Cajun Market is included with fair admission. Admission into the Cajun Heartland State Fair is $3 per person, ages 3 & under are free.

 

“We are incredibly excited to partner with the Cajun Heartland State Fair to host the all-new Cajun Market,” said Debbey Ryan, Chamber Founder and President. “As an organization that champions women in business and entrepreneurship, this is an amazing opportunity to highlight many of the talented business and craft industry professionals in our community.”

 

Guests are reminded to follow all social distancing markings and maintain 6 foot social distancing from other groups while attending the event.

Schoolhouse Safari

  • Schoolhouse Safari is thrilled to be featured at The Cajun Heartland State Fair! We will be there from 5pm-8pm every day (and 3pm-8pm on Saturdays). Our walk-thru encounters and educational demonstrations will be no charge to enter although as this is a volunteer event for Schoolhouse Safari, donations are very strongly suggested. We will have different animals each day including birds, small mammals, reptiles and sometimes even more! Thank you so much for supporting your local small business!

Gold Star MIDWAY Rides

 We are pleased to introduce our new Midway partner for 2021, Gold Star Amusements! The CHSF, along with our new ride operator, Gold Star Amusements, plan to meet and/or exceed the current COVID-19 mitigation guidelines in regard to guest safety and cleanliness. We are committed to providing a safe, family-friendly environment for our staff and guests. 

 

Ride Safety & Cleanliness

  1.  Amusement staff pick-up a hand sanitizer dispenser for their work area daily and return it daily. 
  2. At the beginning f the day, ride operatrs wipe down all high touch surfaces while doing their daily inspections.
  3. Ride perators also wipe down high touch areas periodically through the day.
  4. Designated members of the ride staff are part of a sanitization team that complete routine sanitization of the rides from open to close.  
  5. Prior to opening for the week, all rides are sprayed down with a fogger using KOC-8 sanitizer.
  6. Daily sanitization wipes consist of Efferson Disinfectant Sanitizer. 

Hand-Washing & Sanitizer Stations

  1.  Fair guests can utilize permanent hand washing stations inside CAJUNDOME and Convention Center restroom facilities in addition to hand washing/sanitizing stations located throughout the fair grounds and near food & beverage stations. 

Guest Responsibility

Fair goers are reminded not to visit or enter the Cajun Heartland State Fair if they are currently experiencing any COVID-19 related symptoms or have been in recent close contact with someone that has tested positive for COVID-19.
